Overclocking the card gave better results than the AMD reference design. We were able to achieve 1200MHz core and 1615MHz memory compared to 1150MHz core and 1625MHz memory on the AMD reference card. The ASUS Direct CU II TOP R9 270X overclocked better reaching 1250MHz but the Gigabyte version certainly does very well considering its price point.
When overclocked the Gigabyte R9 270X is capable of trading blows with overclocked GTX 760s in 3DMark 11.
