Gigabyte has launched their overclocked HD 7800 series cards. They will be bringing to market factory overclocked speeds, both featuring custom cooling and of course built off the latest 28nm and PCIe Gen 3 supported technologies. The HD 7850 2GB OC model (GV-R785OC-2GD) features a raised clock speed from 860MHz to 975MHz which should give it about a 10% speed boost over the reference design. The 2GB of memory remains clocked at the default speed and the whole unit is cooled by dual 100mm fans.
The HD 7870 2GB OC model (GV-R787OC-2GD) is overclocked from 1GHz to 1.1GHz which again should result in about a 10% speed boost over the reference HD 7870. The 2GB of VRAM on this also retains default 4.8GHz frequencies and is cooled by a triple set of 80mm fans.
Both cards feature the windforce cooler design, a blue PCB and Ultra Durable 2 components. There is support for Eyefinity, Eyespeed and CrossFireX across both cards. The current reference retail prices for the HD 7870 and 7850 stand at $349 and $249 respectively, so we expect for these custom cooled overclocked editions from Gigabyte you should probably add around 10% to the price.
