Gigabyte Releases its New Z690I AORUS ULTRA Plus Motherboard

Gigabyte has announced the general release of its brand new Z690I AORUS ULTRA PLUS gaming motherboard with Double Connect Technology (DCT) which continues the highlights of Z690I AORUS ULTRA and adds PCB to 12 layers for optimized heat dissipation. These two models are launched in two SKUs of DDR4 and DDR5 and amaze users with full features of 10+1+2 phases digital power VRM design which each phase holding up to 105 amps by its Smart Power Stage design, improved thermal design, Intel Killer Wi-Fi AX1690 Wi-Fi 6E, 2.5 Gbit Ethernet, and high-quality audio.

Meanwhile, GIGABYTE also provides users with an economic option of Z690I AORUS ULTRA-LITE with PCIe 3.0 and Wi-Fi 6 supported.

The Z690I AORUS ULTRA PLUS builds in Intel Killer Wi-Fi AX1690 Wi-Fi 6E controller with DCT (Double Connect technology ), which supports multiple Wi-Fi radios and sets division tasks for gaming and others. Instead of spectrum congestion due to a single connection, 2.4 GHz &5/6 GHz, Wi-Fi bands can be connected simultaneously, and the faster 6 GHz band is prioritized for gaming while using the 2.4 GHz band for another task. It also detects and prioritizes gaming traffic to drive down online gaming latency, as well as provides smoother gaming and VR experience. In comparison to the 802.11ac 1×1 network, Wi-Fi 6E DC delivers 7 times high-speed throughput. Along with 2.5 Gb Ethernet, Z690I AORUS ULTRA PLUS provides the most complete and flexible network options.

To enhance the overall heat dissipation, Z690I AORUS ULTRA PLUS features Fins-Array II technology, 3rd gen heat pipe thermal design for the best power design and thermal management to unleash the extreme performance and optimized overclocking ability on the new generation multi-core K series Intel Core processors. The power layer and ground layer both use 2OZ copper for enhanced heat dissipation up to 13°C drops under the high-speed operation of the CPU to avoid throttling by overheating. Besides the hardware thermal design on VRM, GIGABYTE Z690 motherboards continue to implement Smart Fan 6 technology for a more flexible fan allocation, easier setting on fine-tuning, and advanced manually setting mode. Now users can further control the gaming system temperature setting for the optimal balance between silent, cool, and high performance.

In addition to the super high-speed network and high layers PCB design, Z690I AORUS ULTRA PLUS adopts PCIe 5.0 designs of PCB, slots, and components to enhance performance. Strengthened by SMD memory DIMMs, metal armour, and Shielded Memory Routing, users can enjoy premium memory overclocking performance with more durability and more stability on both DDR4/ DDR5 models. Particularly on DDR5 models, the exclusive DDR5 overclocking, overvoltage and BIOS settings promise users to quickly improve overclocking and XMP performance with ease.

GIGABYTE Z690I AORUS ULTRA PLUS motherboard packs high-speed connections of USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 and 3.2 Gen 2. The high fidelity audio with DTS:X Ultra delivers the most immersive and abundant sound experience whether it’s for gaming or entertaining. In addition to the above exclusive designs, GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS motherboards continue the noted support of the digital LED lightening and graphical BIOS setting interface that displays key information such as clock speeds, memory, storage devices, fan status settings, and other important hardware information in a more intuitive and user-friendly manner. Meanwhile, Q-Flash technology allows users to flash a BIOS file without installing a CPU, RAM, GPU, and other peripherals.

For users who wish for a balance between budget and functionality, GIGABYTE also release Z690I AORUS ULTRA-LITE with PCIe 3.0 and Wi-Fi 6 supported. This model comes in DDR5 and DDR4 as well, which offers quite a bargain for building mini-systems.
