Even as GTX 1070 stocks are having trouble keeping up with demand, AIB partners are not afraid to add even more SKUs to the lineup. After launching the Founders Edition and G.1 variants of the cut-down GP104 GPU, Gigabyte has quietly launched their flagship GTX 1070 graphics card. The new GeForce GTX 1070 Xtreme Gaming brings the highest clock speeds Gigabyte has offered to date for the GPU.
Compared to the Xtreme Gaming GTX 1080, the GTX 1070 variant largely looks similar. The biggest differences you will find are the 8 + 6pin PCIe power connectors replacing the double 8pin solution on the larger sibling. Otherwise, we still have the WINDFORCE Stack 3x 100mm fan cooling system and 16.8M customizable color lighting. We also have a backplate as expected and a lengthy 4-year warranty though that requires registration.
The clock speeds are where the card shines the most. In OC mode, the card runs at 1695 MHz base and 1898 MHz boost while Gaming mode is only a tad lower at 1670 MHz base and 1873 MHz boost. This is about 75Mhz higher than the G.1, over 100 Mhz more than the WINDFORCE and a tad over 200Mhz more than the Founders Edition. Hopefully, this won;t come at too high a price. Gigabyte has not revealed any word on pricing yet.
