The Nvidia RTX 4060 is here at last, well actually, it landed yesterday, but today there are many more partner cards launching, and we kick things off with one of my personal favourites, the Gigabyte Gaming OC series, which has long been a great series of cards that blends performance with more affordable pricing thanks to the long-standing Windforce cooling design that Gigabyte has been using for many years now. Being the Gaming OC, it is slightly overclocked from the factory, running at 2550 MHz compared to the reference card that runs at 2460 MHz. Of course, you’re getting more than just a speed boost, as it comes with a bigger cooler that features 3 x 80mm fans, RGB Fusion, dual BIOS and a metal back plate too.
The RTX 4060 is the most affordable chipset in the RTX 4000 series so far, and while we doubt people will be upgrading from their 3000 or maybe even their 2000 series of cards for whatever gains it will offer, those on the older 1000 series cards that are still the most popular on the Steam Hardware Survey are the ones that are likely to benefit the most, as something like the GTX 1060 struggles in the latest games, often sitting closer to 30 FPS while the new RTX 4060 should be a heck of a lot faster.
