A Closer Look

The 7700 XT Gaming OC is unmistakably familiar. Gigabyte don’t change their designs too much and instead use the same cooler for multiple models and that’s the case here with a very large design. It comes in at 302mm long, 130mm high and 56mm thick and weighs in at 1510 grams.

The Windforce cooling system features three 90mm fans with unique fins to help push maximum airflow, while the middle fan spins in an opposite direction in an effort to reduce turbulence.

There’s a small amount of RGB on the top of the card, which is where we find some more Gigabyte branding and is the part of the card that you’re more likely to see.

The backplate covers the entirety of the PCB and much like other Radeon Gaming OC cards includes some subtle branding, along with an angled cut-out towards the end to help hot air escape.

For connectivity, the card has two DisplayPort connectors and two HDMI ports and will take up 2 slots in your case.

The PCB is nothing out of the ordinary, with a layout that looks very similar to its bigger brother, the 7800 XT, but of course with slightly less memory.

There are two 8-pin power connectors on the top right of the PCB, along with a BIOS switch that allows you to switch between OC mode and silent mode.

In terms of power delivery, the card features a 14 phase design which are split between 2 for the memory, 8 for the GPU, 2 for the SOC and a further 2 for other smaller components like the IO.

Due to the sheer size of the card, the heatsink is also very large and includes a copper plate which makes direct contact with the GPU core and the VRAM and then transfers the heat through composite heatpipes away from the main part of the PCB.

The heatsink is essentially split into three areas of which the heatpipes pass through and is surrounded by a solid edge to help with rigidity.
