Gigabyte is one of the biggest names around, but when it comes to extreme gaming performance, their sister brand Aorus has been top of their gaming, creating some truly exceptional gaming notebooks over the years, as well as some fantastic gaming peripherals. Now it looks like Gigabyte is set to merge part of their main series of hardware with their more gaming focused brand. This is a smart move, it’s something ASUS has been doing for quite some time now and Gigabyte Aorus and ASUS ROG will likely be going head to head for the enthusiast gamer crown when their new motherboards hit the market.
The new motherboard board, which Gigabyte have been teasing on their Facebook page, looks like their new LGA1151 range, which is set to feature the Z270 Express chipset. As you can see in the images, the boards all have some form of RGB lighting, four armoured PCI-E x16 slots, 2 x M.2 slots, and some massive heat sinks that appear to merge into the backplate cover.
While reports of Kaby lake haven’t been particularly inspiring, at least the motherboards are coming out swinging and we can’t wait to see what else Gigabyte, or any other brand for that matter, has in store for us.
