Gigabyte UD1000GM Power Supply Review

Efficiency
Although only officially rated as an 80-Plus Gold PSU, the Gigabyte UD1000GM performs, in our testing, comfortably beyond that remit. While the efficiency is a little on the low side at 20% load, this is entirely normal and with a score of 89.1%, still easily achieves the 88% requirements for the standard.
Overall, the Gigabyte UD1000GM can easily be classed as being on the high-end scale of the 80-Plus Gold standard.
PFC (Power Factor Correction)
Throughout all of the load percentile tests we conducted, the Gigabyte UD1000GM provided excellent results with even the 20% score being notably higher than what we usually see on most other power supply models.
Voltage Regulation
Our voltage regulation testing showed, overall, an exceptionally low level of deviancy through the different voltage rails. In fact, the margins were exceptionally small with the vast majority of results below 0.5%. We did note that the 3.3V rail did undervolt slightly more than we might usually expect to see, but on the whole, the results still seem perfectly within acceptable remits, and, in most respects, are very good indeed!
