Gigabyte is ready to take on the cryptocurrency mining market with their latest motherboard. Here at CES 2018, they revealed an Intel B250 chipset motherboard, capable of housing up to 12 GPUs. Of course, it’ll only support that many cards with the use of riser cables, but that much is obvious.
It will support Intel 1151 CPUs, which is pretty straightforward. There’s a single x16 PCIe slot for your primary GPU and display outputs, of course, the remaining 11 x1 slots are for your riser cables, with a 4-pin Molex there to provide added GPU power stability too.
Speaking of power, it’ll be shipping with a 3 to 1 motherboard cable adaptor. This means you can connect up to three power supplies in tandem, allowing you to power all the GPUs simultaneous with ease.
It’s stripped down and doesn’t feature M.2 drive mounts, but it does have 6 x SATA 6Gbps. It does still have four DIMM slots though, while some mining boards only feature two.
