With cryptocurrency mining currently placing a hefty demand on the already stretched graphics card supply earlier this year, to attempt to alleviate that somewhat, Nvidia announced the launch of the CMP 30HX. A GPU specifically designed for the mining community. However, while Nvidia’s ‘Founders Edition’ has been available, there have been no custom designs from AIB partners revealed. That is, until now!
In announcing the launch of their own custom design, Gigabyte has become (at least to my knowledge) the first AIB partner to officially produce and retail their own CMP 30HX GPU. Now, considering the market that this is being catered towards, it’s not exactly a world beater in terms of aesthetics. With it’s 2-slot profile design, however, this will clearly be an attractive option to miners as the vast majority of ‘gaming’ GPUs are currently around the 2.5 to 2.7 slot area.
In other words, this design is slim(ish) meaning that more than theoretically be crammed into mining setups.
As this is a cryptocurrency-specific graphics card design, this is pretty much 100% unsuitable for gaming consumers. I mean, the complete lack of any sort of display output on the CMP 30HX should be fairly indicative of that.- If you do, however, want to learn more about this, then you can check out the official Gigabyte product website via the link here!
