Gigabyte is launching a new motherboard for Intel’s X-Series HEDT processors. Indeed, the Gigabyte X299 Aorus Gaming 7 Pro supports Intel’s 18-core i9-7980XE CPU, includes quad-channel DDR4 memory support (8 DIMMs), and is Optane-ready. The Pro still has much in common with the original Aorus Gaming 7, though. In addition, the board supports Quad-GPU SLI and 3-Way/2-Way SLI (NVIDIA), plus Quad-GPU CrossFire and 3-Way/2-Way CrossFire (AMD). The Aorus Gaming 7 Pro also includes Turbo B-Clock tuning IC for custom overclocking. Finally, the board features 12 power phases, each providing up to 60 amps.
Gigabyte is yet to reveal price and release date for the X299 Aorus Gaming 7 Pro motherboard. We expect it to be a tad more than the Gaming 7’s £399.99, though. However, we’ll keep an ear out for more information.
