It’s no secret that the second wave of Ryzen ready motherboards is on the horizon, as well as some new CPUs. Gigabyte rocked up with their early prototype, and it’s a bit rough around the edges and subject to change. However, we heard the motherboard layout is pretty much set and likely already gone to print.
The new motherboards are expected to bring much better memory support and memory overclocking right out of the box. Following that, better power consumption, and no doubt a few new features that are yet to be announced in the coming months.
This motherboard looks pretty decent and it’s ticking all the right boxes. Most importantly, some properly robust looking VRM cooler, a multi-phase power design, and some robust chokes; this points to great overclocking potential. There’s also a chunky chipset cooler and M.2 cooling. It’s not the most pleasing design, but it’s chunky and it’s going to get the job done.
Another welcome addition, a built-in rear I/O guard, so you’ll never forget to install it when it comes to building time.
Obviously, there’s no word on price or release date. However, expect it to be similar to their current line up regarding price. The rumour mill has a release pegged around April, but that could always change.
