High-end motherboard and mini-ITX motherboards alike often come with a price premium. The same is true for the Z370 N WiFi, which costs £144.71. That isn’t cheap, but it’s still good value for money overall and it’s a competitive price given the level of features and performance.
Overall, I really cannot find a single fault with this motherboard, it ticks all the right boxes for its price range and delivers exactly the kind of performance we expected to see. However, this is a premium product, so we wouldn’t have expected anything less than this. If you’re building a mini-ITX gaming rig, it’s ideal for the job.
The aesthetics of this motherboard aren’t too crazy if anything they’re a little understated, and that’s what I like the most. The monochrome PCB and hardware design will provide a clean looking backdrop for your hardware. Of course, the lack of colour means it’ll blend in with virtually any colour scheme you choose for the rest of your build. Armour on the PCIe slot, a good size VRM heat sink, and M.2 cooling all add visual flair too. Of course, they also provide better performance and build quality too.
The price premium on this motherboard isn’t without good reason. For your money you get a lot of cool features, such as the PCIe Bifurcation, allowing you to split the x16 into 2 x 8x using a riser cable. Not sure how many people would need it, but it’s a cool feature for particular system builders; compact mining rig perhaps?
Optane support, impressive overclocking, dual LAN, powerful ac WiFi with MU-MIMO and BT 4.2, and dual M.2 certainly add up to some impressive performance and connectivity too. However, I’m super happy to see ALC1220 120dB audio built-in with Smart Headphone Amp. It’s an audio chipset that’s never let me down, sounds great, and removed the need for additional sound hardware.
Everything else is just icing on the cake. With RGB Fusion, Smart Fan 5, Easy Tune, USB Type-C all giving you the tools you need to get the most out of your system with ease.
