With Intel’s new 13th-gen Raptor Lake processors set to release on October 20th, I daresay that more than a few people are considering moving to their latest platform. Particularly since it will be retaining the LGA 1700 socket making last-gen motherboards and cooling solutions still an entirely viable choice. – As part of the official launch event last month, however, in a move not entirely dissimilar to what AMD did with Ryzen 7000, Intel only confirmed the launch of six initial models.
Following a report via Videocardz, however, an update for Gigabyte’s upcoming Z790 motherboard platform has seemingly confirmed that the entire Raptor Lake series will, or at least may, comprise of at least 22 models!
Taking a closer look at the list, this honestly isn’t overly surprising as Intel’s upcoming Raptor Lake platform will ultimately end up (pretty much) replicating what we saw in their last-gen Alder Lake models. What is interesting, however, is that this Gigabyte listing doesn’t just give us our first confirmation of what may end up being the entire Raptor Lake series, but more so, the rough specifications each processor variant might have.
As for when these other processors will arrive, however, we suspect that they’ll likely form part of Intel’s CES 2023 announcement/event in January. This will, of course, not just include the launch of other Raptor Lake processors, but also their (typically less expensive) B760 and H770 motherboards. For the moment though, Gigabyte clearly seems to have its finger on the pulse for what’s on the way.
