We have already reported on Nvidia’s plans to bring out other GK104 based cards in the next month or so which will come in the form of the GTX 670Ti and GTX 670. There’s also persistent speculation that Nvidia will release its dual-GPU card the GTX 690 some time shortly after AMD launches their equivalent, the HD 7990, which is due in late April.
However, the new developments come with regards to the GK106 chip which is set to provide some mid range cards for Nvidia. The GK106 card will be used to form the GTX 660 and possibly other cards should they decide to make a GTX 660Ti for example, this GK106 chip would be the most likely candidate. It will be used to target the sub $250 market and compete with AMD’s HD 7800 and HD 77000 cards, although expect it late since Nvidia is still currently waiting to shift the GK114 based inventory (which includes the recently released GTX 560SE in addition to the GTX 560 and others).
Finally Nvidia could also use its GK107 chip which is currently used for GT 650 and GT 640M cards to make some low end desktop cards such as equivalents to the GT 540 and GT 520 which require less graphical horsepower.
