At the time of this review, you can get GOODRAM’s IRDM Ultimate with 240GB capacity for £150.28. The smaller 120GB version can be yours for £92.27.
The basic drive is very plain, being a bare M.2 2280 module. But it doesn’t have to stay that way, not unless you want to install it in a system without room for more.
The included PCIe card is a nice bonus, making you able to install it in a lot more systems. However, what I love most is the heatsink. NVMe drives tend to run hot, which can result in thermal throttling. Especially if your other hardware generates a lot of heat too. If you should have that problem, or just want your NVMe drive to look cooler, then you simply attach the included heatsink.
GOODRAM’s IRDM Ultimate performed very well in our tests. It lands in the middle of the charts for most tests, but also in the top area of some. The use of MLC NAND helps the performance, but also the endurance. The 5-year warranty is also a nice feature which speaks for the durability.
“GOODRAM’s IRDM Ultimate will look great in any gaming system where it can accelerate your system to the next level.”
We would like to thank GOODRAM for this sample.
