Google has recently announced that it is looking to hire people to test out some of its self-driving vehicles in Arizona, which could sound like a dream come true for those of you who’ve been aching for a ride in one of these cars. Moreover, whoever is lucky enough to qualify for these testing sessions will be paid $20 an hour, which doesn’t sound bad at all considering that the gig involves sitting in the car for six to eight hours a day. The job is actually a bit more complicated than that, as it involves providing “concise written and oral feedback” as well as submitting daily reports to Google’s engineering team and documenting every testing procedure.
It’s also worth noting that you’ll still have to know how to drive the car yourself in order to apply for this job, which definitely makes sense safety-wise. Google has stated that it is not looking for a “particular type of person,” but the ideal candidate needs to have bachelor’s degrees and excellent communication skills. Moreover, the project will not involve the company’s well-known compact cars, but will instead focus on autonomous Lexus vehicles.
Would you be interested in testing Google’s self-driving technology? I know I would.
