For the more frequent traveller or wannabe explorer, whether local or overseas, Google Maps has just added a few extra features to its Google Maps app for Android.
One of the main features is the ability to upload photos for places straight from your mobile device, of course this makes sense as it can tag the places with locational data for easy identification at a later date.
There are a few other features that have been added including descriptive terms and a new ‘my Places’ option. The descriptive terms enhances the search results, bringing up points of interest related to businesses such as their specialities. My Places provide a listing of your favourite and recently visited places.
If you do, somehow, manage to stumble upon an interesting location that hasn’t been placed on Google Maps, you can add it straight to Google Maps. Of course, this will also check you into that new location.
It seems Google is improving all its services slowly, and improving the interconnecting parts between the services to help ease transition and entice more people to use all of their services.
