Users breathed a sigh of relief as they were able to download Google maps on their Apple iOS powered devices. Google said on Monday that iOS users have downloaded their revamped maps more than 10 million times within 2 days!
A message was put by Jeff Huber, Googe’s Executive on Google+
We’re excited for the positive reception of Google Maps for iPhone around the world. Congratulations to the Maps Team on the recognition for the passion and hard work they poured into it, for this release and over the last 7+ years.
On the other hand, Apple doesn’t disclose tallies of individual apps that are downloaded but only talks about the cumulative figures when crossing major milestones. Such was the case in March 2012 when it said that apple had more than 25 Billion apps downloaded and awarded a customer in China an iTunes gift card worth $10,000 for being the 25th billionth app downloader.
