Chinese phone maker Goophone released a new gadget, but not a smartphone apparently. They released a Smartwatch, entitled Goophone Smartwatch 3G.
It comes with an interface similar to the Windows Phone UI and running on Android 4,0 Ice Crean Sandwitch it also grants you access to the Play Store.
The 1.54-inch 240 x 240 pixels capacitive touch-screen display is not much, but it is a smartwatch after all. Powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual-Core MediaTek chipset, it packs a 512 MB ram and 4 GB of internal storage. And quite astonishingly it even has a 2 MP camera. It also comes with a Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n network connectivity and weighs only 72g.
There is a reason why the “3G” is included in the gadget’s name. The Goophone Smartwatch comes with 3G capabilities that support global GSM and WCDAM bands, having a microSIM slot, and comes with a standby tolerance of 48 hours.
No fancy brand name is attached to this nifty gadget and it does not have a high-performance ration given the above specs, but all in all, the $299 / €232 /£187 Goophone Smartwatch 3G is an attractive device.
