GoPro unveiled their latest HERO6 Black camera a few days ago, but it they are following that soon with their first 360-degree camera. Called GoPro Fusion 360, it is due to hit stores in November for $699 USD. The camera captures 5.2K spherical content at 30fps and 3K at 60fps. Users can also use it to take 18MP still photos. Fans who used to stitch multiple images taken with multiple cameras and using their Omni software to make 360-degree collages can now just use the Fusion 360.
The company has made their name with action photography and they do not intend to stop now. Which is why the Fusion 360 is compact and portable. Plus, it is also water-proof up to 5 meters in depth. It also uses the same mounting bracket as other GoPro models so it can easily install almost anywhere.
What makes the Fusion 360 extra special in comparison to other 360 VR cameras is the new OverCapture software feature. This allows users to take 1080p traditional videos from spherical footage. According to those who have already tried it, it is a game changer.
For those eager to see what the footage looks like on the Fusion 360, check out the video below. This should give you an idea of what to do once it is available in stores on November.
