GoPro unveiled their latest video camera called the HERO6 Black featuring 4K video recording up to 60 fps. The new addition to the HERO line uses the new GP1 processor, which is twice as powerful as the one inside the HERO5 Black. Aside from the 4K recording capability, action cam enthusiasts will be glad to hear that the HERO6 Black can also do 1080p at 240fps. Which means glorious slow-motion, capturing more detail than ever before. In comparison, the HERO5 Black was only capable of 240fps at 720p.
The new GoPro HERO6 Black also now features 5GHz Wi-Fi connectivity. This means users can transfer videos faster with less interference unlike the 2.4GHz spectrum. The new update also brings more advanced image stabilization thanks to the powerful processor. Not only can it capture videos better, the GP1 processor can also handle shaky footage for smoother video results.
Here is a handy comparison chart comparing the HERO5 Session, HERO5 Black, and the new HERO6 Black.
The GoPro HERO6 Black by itself retails for $499.99 USD but it is also available with other accessories. Users can also get the Karma Quadcopter with the HERO6 Black camera mounted underneath for $1,199 available for pre-order.
