Gotham City glitches being investigated

Monolith says it’s investigating a data wipe glitch affecting Gotham City Impostors.

An admin on the game’s official forums said the team has received reports of stats totally resetting, “usually when the upgrade from the trial to the full version occurs”. They went on to request affected users provide details such as which platform they’re playing on, their location, Gamertag and more, sparking 70 pages’ worth of comments from angry Xbox 360 and the PS3 players.

Some affected users have not only lost their stats, but have also effectively lost the money they spent on XP boosts and other items to help them level up.

“Sorry about the inconvenience,” said the forum administrator. “We’re doing everything we can to get this fixed as soon as possible!”

Released last week, the six versus six shooter puts players in control of amateur vigilantes or villains styled after either Batman or The Joker, and has them battle it out using absurd, thrown-together gadgets and weapons.

The launch itself didn’t go smoothly either, with Warner forced to investigate reports of PS3 users being unable to access the full game after purchasing it on the PlayStation Network.
