GPU Pricing Update – July 2023

Nvidia 40 Series Cards
So now moving onto the 40 series and there is less to look at here, however we can still see that the majority of the cards have seen a subtle decline since their launch. The 4090 has seen an almost £100 drop since its MSRP, coming down from £1649 to £1600 saving you a small amount of money, but nothing mind-blowing. Now for the other cards in the stack, we don’t have a lot of data as they were all released fairly recently. However, we can see that the RTX 4070 is around the same price as it was in the last video we made back in May. We’d expect these cards to be on the higher end of the price scale as they are the newest series from Nvidia however it would be nice to continue to see the prices decrease as time goes on especially as consumers aren’t buying them at the pace that NVIDIA maybe expected. The biggest drop that we have seen comes from the RTX 4080 which has seen a slow but steady decrease, but again, nothing that makes you want to snap it up quickly.
Lastly for Nvidia and looking at the 40 series and to be expected the cards haven’t really moved much if at all due to most of the stack being released this year and some only recently. With that, we can see that the RTX 4070 Ti has stayed consistent since February, staying around the same price throughout while the 4080 can be seen slowly decreasing as time goes on leaving it $100 lower than its MSRP. Finally the beast that is the RTX 4090 has increased again bringing it nearly $130 more expensive than its MSRP at $1624, which is EXPENSIVE for a GPU in 2023. So if it’s the 4090 you’re specifically after, I’d wait a bit and see if it goes down in price again as we’ve seen in the past.
