Graphics Card Price Cuts Appear to Be Initially Dropping on High-End Models!

With the graphics card supply and stock situation actually being, dare I say, good these days, there has been more than a little information over the last month to suggest that consumers could finally start to expect to see aggressive price cuts at literally any moment. Particularly since next-gen models are only a couple of months away from release. – And following a report via Videocardz, it appears that this moment has arrived with many Nvidia 30XX graphics cards seeing monumental discounts with major retailers.

It seems, however, that this influx of price cuts is coming with a bit of a catch. Namely, it seems that this might be taking more of a staggered approach than previously expected with the highest-end models firstly seeing the biggest cuts!

Graphics Card Discounts Have Begun – But Not Perhaps as Was Hoped!

Based on listings spotted within literally the last 48 hours, there have been some absolutely ridiculous deals available with many US retailers. Deals that have seen Nvidia 3080 Ti’s available for less than $750 and also 3090’s dropping notably below the $1,000 mark. – Overall though, this might be indicative of what we can expect.

Put simply, sources are claiming that while discounts have been applied, consumers can likely first expect to see the most notable drops on high-end models with more entry to mid-tier designs not anticipated to see similar cuts until either later this month or in early October.

What About AMD?

The source has also said that while AMD has applied/requested price cuts to its Radeon 6000 series graphics cards, these have yet to work their way down to retailers meaning that, comparatively speaking, Nvidia has (as we expected) been the far more proactive of the two. Overall though, consumers can likely expect to see big price cuts for high-end Nvidia GPUs over the next couple of weeks.

The downside, however, is that entry to mid-tier models will likely not get ‘big’ cuts for a little while longer yet, and more so, AMD might be, comparatively speaking, dragging their heels a little more.

Still though, while it took a lot longer than many might have hoped, price cuts, and big ones, do appear to be happening. And, let’s be honest, it would be hard to say no to an Nvidia 3080 Ti for just $739.99 even with the 40XX series just around the corner.
