Grey Box Removes Denuvo from RiME

Well, it looks like Grey Box made good on its promise and actually got rid of Denuvo on RiME. Not too long ago, we reported on Grey Box’s promise to remove the anti-tamper tech if the title would be cracked. Apparently, the game was actually cracked in five days after its release. This prompted the team to release a statement, and a patch, in just a few hours. Admittedly, they probably prepared the patch beforehand.
“Upon receiving this news, we worked to test this and verify that it was, in fact, the case. We have now confirmed that it is. As such, we at Team Grey Box are following through on our promise from earlier this week that we will be replacing the current build of RiME with one that does not contain Denuvo.”
What’s next?
Moreover, there’s another patch for RiME in the works. This one will fix a VR initialization bug, and it will address some hardware-related crashes. There’s more work ahead too, as players are reporting various other performance issues, particularly when it comes to stuttering. Hopefully, Grey Box will be quick to fix these as well, as RiME is showing great promise.
Have you played RiME, and if so, how are you enjoying the game so far?
