Are you dying to get your hands on the awesome looking Grand Theft Auto Online? Well prepare to open your wallets, because if you want to get ahead quickly you will need to throw a few quid in the direction of Rockstar.
Microtransactions are new to GTA, but it stands to good reason that Rockstar would want to cash in on what could be one of the most entertaining multi player experiences this generation. While “free” content hasn’t been detailed as of yet, or even how quickly you can earn money (if at all) without microtransactions, we do know how much the add-on cash packs will set you back and fortunately they actually sound pretty reasonable.
Now it is worth pointing out that these are not final or confirmed, but the good guys over at Eurogamer have it on good authority that they are correct, especially given that the release date for the service is only a week away.
“a car that costs $1 million in the game’s single-player mode can be bought for much less in Online – more like $150,000. Properties are also cheaper – the most expensive you can own is $400,000.” – EG
There will be more features that cost more however, this includes things like car mods and weapons, unfortunately it looks like we’ll have to find out how much at a later date.
Set to launch on October 1st, GTA Online should be huge and all owners of GTA V get free access, they just don’t get free booster cash packs, they’ll cost you that little bit extra.
Thank you Eurogamer for providing us with this information.
