Rockstar Games‘ remastered GTA Trilogy has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 30 million downloads on Netflix. This impressive figure showcases the enduring popularity of the classic Grand Theft Auto titles.
30 Million Downloads
The GTA Trilogy, which includes remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas, was added to Netflix’s gaming catalog in December 2023. Initially, the three games quickly amassed over 18 million downloads by the end of January 2024. This strong start hinted at the trilogy’s potential success on the streaming platform.
According to Appmagic (thanks Mobilegamer.biz), San Andreas leads the pack with 20.5 million downloads. Vice City follows with 6.5 million, and GTA III has garnered 3.3 million downloads. These numbers make the GTA Trilogy the most downloaded game series on Netflix to date.
The majority of these downloads have been on Apple devices. Specifically, San Andreas has seen 15.8 million downloads on iOS compared to 4.7 million on Android. Similarly, Vice City and GTA III have higher download numbers on iOS. In terms of regional distribution, the United States dominates, contributing 25% of the downloads for San Andreas and Vice City, and 25% for GTA III. Other notable regions include Brazil, India, and Mexico.
