GTA V PS3 Leak Gets Reaction From Sony And Rockstar Games

Sony and Rockstar games have both addressed a recent incident where certain pre-load files for the GTA V game became available early on the PlayStation Store for the PS3 by mistake. Sony has allowed PlayStation 3 owners in Europe to download the pre-load files for the upcoming title but did not encrypt the downloads meaning users were able to search through the files and access information about the game before it has launched.
Since it was Sony’s blunder they have already issued an apology via their PlayStation blog:
“Regrettably, some people who downloaded the digital pre-order of Grand Theft Auto V through the PlayStation Store in Europe were able to access certain GTA V assets. These assets were posted online. We have since removed the digital pre-order file from the PlayStation Store in Europe…We sincerely apologize to Rockstar and GTA fans across the world who were exposed to the spoiler content. GTA V is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year with a very passionate following, and we’re looking forward to a historic launch on September 17.”
Rockstar Games also made a public statement using its news service stating that:
“As you can imagine, we are deeply disappointed by leaks and spoilers being spread in advance of the game’s launch. GTAV represents years of hard work by many people across the world, and we all couldn’t be more excited to finally share it with you properly this September 17.”
Of course this means eager fans will be able to see key details about GTA V well before its release but for anyone who was hoping for an exciting experience on release day, well for you this can only be viewed as spoilers.
