GTA VI Production Report Faked
Ashley Allen / 7 years ago
Earlier today, the internet flailed wildly over rumours that Grand Theft Auto VI is currently in-production. The news came courtesy of an actor’s résumé which lists GTA VI (or Grand Theft Auto 6, as written). The supposed résumé stayed online for hours afterwards – which is suspicious, considering how quickly Rockstar tends to shut down leaks – as more sources reported on it. Predictably, the actor listed on the résumé has now debunked the claim, branding the document a fake.

The Faked Résumé
NeoGAF user chadskin posted a supposed résumé for actor Tim Neff. According to the document, Neff bagged himself a job as a motion capture artist on GTA VI.
Without any further citation, the hoax document spread across news sites. Even the likes of IGN and Business Insider reported the story, albeit with caveats questioning its authenticity. Both sites reached out to Rockstar for comment, to no avail. The company probably just shrugged and grabbed the popcorn to watch the story unravel.
The Actor Speaks
Neff, who did perform motion capture for GTA V, spoke out about the faked résumé. He told PCGamesN:
“That isn’t my page, account or résumé. I don’t even know that website. I worked on GTA 5 a long time ago and haven’t done anything since. Sorry for the confusion. It seems I’m being trolled online really badly.”
He also debunked the document on his Twitter account:
The main issue is I don't even have a breakdownexpress account so I don't know who made that
