On 7th July, NVIDIA will hold a special press event to officially launch its new GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, boasting its new Pascal architecture. So far, NVIDIA has only launched the high-end GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 cards from its GeForce 10-Series, so the reveal of the GTX 1060 marks the company’s move into the mid-range market, which is sure to worry AMD.
The announcement of the GeForce GTX 10-Series Celebration reads:
“PASCAL has launched and this is a celebration for you.
On May 27 NVIDIA launched PASCAL around the world. And we want to celebrate with gamers who inspire us to make great things.
We would like to invite you and a guest to an exclusive evening with NVIDIA for an exciting night of the latest gaming experiences driven by PASCAL.
Experience VR, see custom built PCs, jump into a tournament, meet e-sports players, and more.”
The event is being held at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia, and begins at 7pm on 7th July.
The move follows AMD’s reveal of its new Radeon RX graphics cards, which it hopes will restore some of the market share that it lost over the past few years, though recent news suggests that AMD could be in for a rude awakening. Is NVIDIA positioning itself to obliterate AMD entirely with its new range of GeForce 10 graphics cards?
