NVIDIA has finally announced the GTX 1080 and it looks likely to surpass all expectations. On stage, NVIDIA’s founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang proudly proclaimed that the new GTX 1080 is faster than a Titan X by a significant margin and even surpasses a GTX 980 SLI setup.
Here we can see the absolutely staggering improvements compared to the current Maxwell family and the new Pascal architecture is going to be a revolutionary series which sets a new standard of graphics technology. During the presentation, it was hinted that the GTX 1080 will be able to run games at their maximum settings with a fluid frame-rate above 60. However, no details were revealed about the resolution. I’m eagerly awaiting to see if NVIDIA’s new product range is capable of maintaining 60 frames-per-second when paired with a 4K monitor.
