GTX 680 SLI testing reveals results

We have already seen performance test figures from the GTX 680 which revealed it was faster on average than the HD 7970 by about 10%. Over the weekend VR-Zone were busy testing a couple of Nvidia’s new GTX 680 cards in SLI mode. The two cards were clocked at 1150MHz core and 7200MHz memory (up from stock figures of 1006MHz core and 6008MHz memory) running on an ASUS ROG Rampage IV Extreme X79 motherboard. The CPU used was an i7 3930K clocked at 5GHz with a healthy 16GB of 2133MHz DDR3 RAM. VrR-Zone tested the SLI 680s on 3D Mark 11, running the Entry, Performance and Extreme tests or E, P and X tests.

The results were:

Entry test: E22878

Performance test: P16860

Extreme test: X6243

The results are promising since early drivers are always a bit rubbish when it comes to running SLI. There could be around 5-20% performance boosts once Nvidia gets the drivers sorted.
