You guessed it, yet more Nvidia Kepler speculation coming your way. The GK104 based GTX 680 is reported to be coming to market at $550, essentially the same price as the HD 7970 depending on the model, cooler and other variations. The performance is reportedly close, with the GTX 680 edging ahead in more pro-Nvidia games and the HD 7970 doing the same in pr0-AMD games. Although, Fudzilla’s sources say the GTX 680 wins more of the Direct X 11 games than the HD 7970. Nvidia is claiming the victory in power consumption with Kepler reportedly only drawing 200W at maximum load whilst we already know from reviews that the HD 7970 consumes around 270W at maximum load. This all means the GTX 680 will take only two 6 pin connectors, although some partners may add 8 pins to aid overclocking.
But remember, rumours are rumours until proven true.
