Guess How Much Windows 10 Will Be After July 29th

For a long time now, Microsoft have offered an upgrade to the new Windows 10 operating system free of charge to any users of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. After the first anniversary of Window’s 10’s release on July 29th, all upgrades to the latest version of Windows will cease to be free and will instead cost $119 in order to upgrade to Windows 10 Home edition.

Microsoft’s free upgrade campaign has been met with mixed responses from users, from praise of Microsoft’s bold move to make their latest OS effectively free to anger at the zeal with which they have almost seemed to force the upgrade on those who wish to keep their current OS. Regardless, this gambit has paid off for Microsoft, with Windows 10 now being installed on over 300 million devices according to the company, being installed on almost 15% of all computers worldwide.

If you’ve not upgraded to Windows 10 and plan to, now could just be the time to take the plunge as while Windows 10 may have been a little rocky at release, both Microsoft and the community have worked to fix bugs and add numerous new features to the OS. And if you’re someone who staunchly resists Microsoft’s pushes to upgrade, July 29th could just be a time to celebrate, as Microsoft may have to relent in their (sometimes underhanded) efforts to increase the Windows 10 user base now there is a price attached.
