Great news for Halo fans today, with website Variety reporting that microsoft is investing in a live-action Halo webseries.
Due for release in the weeks before the November 6th release of Halo 4, the series will be titled Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, focusing on the story of a young Master Chief and how he inspired a young UNSC cadet who will eventually become a leader aboard the UNSC Infinity, with plenty of flashback and plot teasers through out no doubt. While details of the cast, director and of course more about the plot are still elusive, we’re told we will have to wait until this summers Comic-Con in San Diego for more information.
“Make Halo accessible for people who haven’t played the games. We wanted to do something unique from a narrative standpoint that’s big in scale.” said Matt McCloskey – the (director of franchise business management at 343i) when speaking to Variety.
Frank O’Connor, franchise development director at 343 Industries, told Variety, “We needed a way to ensure there was a way for people to get on board this universe without feeling intimidated.”
The webseries will be available for viewing at Machinima, and at the online community Halo Waypoint.
Well be sure to keep a close eye on this story as it develops, lets hope it doesn’t suck!
