Halo 5 and Forza Horizon 3 Encryption System Cracked
Peter Donnell / 8 years ago
As some of you will know, the latest PC releases from Microsoft, Halo 5: Forge and Forza Horizon 3, use Microsoft’s new encrypted protection system. This means that anyone wanting to create mods for the game was pretty much locked out from the files they needed, at least that was true until now.
The new tool is created by someone called “infogram”, but for various reasons, we won’t be sharing links to the easily sourced crack files here on eTeknix, but if you watch the videos below, you can see that people really have been able to run modified files using the new crack.
Microsoft will no doubt be pretty pissed their Appx format was cracked so quickly, but if you lock a door in the PC gaming world, more people are just going to try to unlock it. While this doesn’t directly open the door for piracy, yet, it does open up a lot of opportunities for modding of Appx games now and in the future.

Also, unless you’re wanting to do some modding of your own, we don’t suggest you crack the game like this, as there are no mods available for download at this time.
