Hearthstone Nintendo Switch Port Rumours Squashed

Hearthstone
Last year, rumours began to emerge that Hearthstone might have been making an appearance on the Nintendo Switch. In truth, it made a lot of sense. The news, however, is not good.
In a report via the IBTimes, Blizzard has very firmly squashed any rumours that Hearthstone will appear on the Switch.
Why not?
Well, truthfully, from a logical standpoint, a port to the Nintendo Switch made a lot of sense. Given the consoles wireless connectivity, portable play and touchscreen control, it seems the ideal home for the game.
Sometimes though, things that make a lot of sense, for one reason or another, simply never materialised.
Current releases
Given that Hearthstone is currently available on PC and mobile devices, the lack of a Nintendo Switch port in the works is rather confusing. Blizzard’s game design Dean Ayala has categorically said though that: “There are no plans to move Hearthstone to the Nintendo Switch.”
The main reason given is Hearthstones, not necessarily reliance, but stronger gameplay online. Put simply, you can play other people. They feel that the Nintendo Switch, while capable of operating online, would be too limited in offline mode.
Will it ever be released on Nintendo Switch?
It could and it probably should, but will it? I suspect not. The rumours have been pretty firmly put down by Blizzard. I do perhaps believe that they may for a time have genuinely looked into it, but for one reason or another, likely one not mentioned above, it simply didn’t happen.
Either way, I’m afraid fans of the popular card game will, for the moment, have to stick to their PC or mobile versions.
