Despite Helldivers II‘s popularity, fans have long felt the game lacked collaborations. Nearly a year after its release, this wish is finally being fulfilled with the addition of Killzone content to the PvE game.
Arrowhead Studios has confirmed that their first collaboration will roll out in two parts. Thanks to players’ efforts in completing Voteless following the Omens of Tyranny update, the first part is available now, with the second arriving on December 23. This premium pack is inspired by Killzone 2, and future content from Guerrilla Games’ title will depend on players’ performance in upcoming missions.
Interestingly, the Killzone 2 bundle won’t follow the traditional Warbond system but will instead be available through the Superstore. To maximize accessibility, the themed outfit, weapon, and accessories will be purchasable for five days. The first part is live from December 18 to December 23, and the second will follow from December 23 to December 28.
After these periods, Helldivers II’s store will return to normal, though Arrowhead is considering extending the availability of select items. This marks the studio’s first venture into collaborations, sparking excitement among fans.
Arrowhead has clarified that future collaborations will only happen when they align with the game’s theme. While content from franchises like Astro Bot is unlikely, a tie-in with something like Destiny 2 remains a possibility.
