While it’s true that Crytek is going through some serious issues right now, and while there aren’t many developers who are looking to use CRYENGINE for their current projects, there’s a STALKER fan out there that managed to recreate a part of the game using this promising engine, and the results are impressive, to say the least. The first concept of STALKER running in CRYENGINE 3 surfaced at the end of January, and in March, a second video followed, which showed off just how amazing the game would look like if the project would be completed in its entirety. Speaking of which, we don’t know if the demo will ever be released to the public, but we can always hope.
Survival-horror first-person shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl was developed by a Ukranian studio named GSC Game World, and it was published by THQ. It came out in March 2007 for Microsoft Windows, and it received quite a bit of praise for its style and depth, even though it had its own share of bugs. You can have a look at the videos below if you want to catch a glimpse of the game’s assets in Cryengine. By the way, what did you think about Stalker when it first came out?
