HifiMan – HE400se, Over-Ear Open-Back Planar Magnetic Headphones

  • HiFiMan’s HE400SE open back planar headphones are designed for three primary things; comfort, durability and performance. They are lightweight, have a rich and full frequency response and use HiFi Man’s Planar technology to increase the audio quality to the highest degree.
  • Standard headphones tend to use dynamic drivers which vibrate in order to diffuse a sound wave, but without being able to move the entire membrane. Planar Magnetic headphones differ in that they use conductive layers covering almost the entire membrane to offer a better capacity of movement. This architecture allows a considerable reduction of distortion for a considerably improved sound rendering.
  • Rather different than the sound wave created by a conventional magnet, the special design of the Stealth Magnet technology allows the sound waves to pass through the magnet without generating interference. This reduces the diffraction of the waves that could degrade their integrity. As a result, the HE400SE is able to deliver rich, extremely accurate sound across its entire frequency range!
