Corsair have announced the availability of the higher capacity models of the Force GT solid state drives. The 180GB and 240GB models are now available alongside the current 60GB and 120GB models. For a quick recap of what they are, they are SATA III 6GB/s solid state drives using the new SandForce controller supporting read speeds of up to 555MB/s and write speeds of up to 525MB/s. Up to 85,000 IOPs are support for an ultra responsive system.
Corsair: “Force Series GT is our fastest, most flexible line of SSDs, The new 180GB and 240GB models are ideal for premium systems which require large amounts of high-performance storage.”
They are all backward compatible with SATA II 3GB/s as standard and come with a 3.5″ to 2.5″ adapter for those who want to mount in a 3.5″ bay in a desktop PC case. Pricing is $379 for the 180GB model and $489 for the 240GB model.
