Here at eTeknix, we’ve explored many of the extreme ends of the gaming spectrum. Four years age we explored the early days of gaming at 4K. A couple of years ago we tried gaming at 12K resolution with 3 x 4K monitors. We’ve done a bit with VR. Last year I played around with 4K in-home game streaming using the Nvidia Shield and GTX 1080. And recently, I explored the world of 21:9 Ultrawide gaming. So what’s next on our schedule? Gaming at extreme refresh rates!

60 Hz and Beyond!

In the office today, I have the stunning AOC 25.5″ AG251FZ Gaming Monitor. This Full HD panel may not sport the highest resolution, but it does pack a staggering 240Hz refresh rate that promises lag-free gaming that’s sure to appeal to the eSports crowd. It does have one downside, it’s quite expensive. I’ve already reviewed this monitor in great detail, and you can read that here. However, my point today isn’t about the monitor or the price of it, it’s about seeing what the world of higher refresh rates has to offer, and what kind of problems you may run into with it.
