As we’ve already heard a fair bit in recent works AMD board partners are to get working on HD 7970 X2 graphics cards. HIS is the first company we have seen working on these unofficial HD 7990s. The HIS HD 7970X2 IceQ features a rather large triple slot cooling design using dual 80mm fans and a custom PCB. Power is supplied by three 8 pins, needed to power two fully fledged HD 7970 GPUs which could come with factory overclocks. The display outputs consist of a dual-link DVI as well as four mini display ports. HIS is confident of beating Powercolor at launching the first HD 7970X2 therefore we should see it well before Powercolor’s expected late-July launch time frame.
