Final Thoughts
The 6850 is still a fantastic buy as it offers mass amounts of performance for quite a small outlay and with HIS harnessing this with higher clock speeds and an improved cooler, it could only ever mean good things. The cooler does a really good job at keeping the card at a much lower temperature than your average 6850 and even gives more headroom for overclocking and if need be increasing the voltage to squeeze even more out of an already powerful card.
The benchmarks gave good results throughout and power consumption was nothing out of the ordinary meaning that this card is perfect for almost any system but it does come with a price tag to match especially when you can pick up a 6950 that could possibly unlock to a 6970 for a little bit more money but it all depends on if your budget and if you want a cooler, quieter system overall or want that extra performance. Personally, I’m still undecided as to what would suit me better.
