Horizon Forbidden West PC Update Changelog Released

I’m eager to get around to playing this one, I just need to find time to finish the last one… I’ll do it, I will, I will! However, in the meantime, Nixxes has released the first major update for the PC release of Horizon: Forbidden West, and thankfully, a full changelog too. It’s not a massive update, but again, it is the first, and I’m sure plenty more to follow.

There’s the usual range of bug fixes here, as you might expect, but the bigger stuff is that DLSS 3 Frame Generation has been enabled in cutscenes, which should help greatly improve the performance in those scenarios.

The mouse cursor issue that put it in the wrong place if you weren’t running at 1920 x 1080 has also been resolved, and various other UI elements for the quest category, Photo Mode and more have been resolved now too.

The HDR mode was… well, utterly trash to be fair, but now the Max Luminance slider is working correctly and doesn’t require mods to get it working anymore, which is great.

Horizon Forbidden West Patch 1.0.43.0 Release Notes

  • Various crash fixes and stability improvements.
  • Resolved an issue that prevented players from claiming rewards at the Hunting Grounds when using the mouse.
  • The HDR Max Luminance slider is now functioning correctly.
  • The game is now able to save when the Documents folder is rerouted to the root of a drive instead of a folder.
  • DLSS 3 Frame Generation is now active in cutscenes and while UI screens such as the weapon wheel are displayed.
  • Photo Mode now shows the correct ‘Hide UI’ button prompt when using a controller.
  • Fixed a bug that could result in multiple Quest categories being highlighted at the same time.
  • Resolved a bug that caused a mouse cursor offset on the map on resolutions other than 1920×1080 pixels.
