NVIDIA updated their GeForce drivers to version 384.76 only six days ago. Unfortunately, this update prevents Watch Dogs 2 players from even launching the game without crashing. This is why they are now rolling out HotFix drivers version 384.80 which fixes this exact issue. Game Ready drivers 384.76 WHQL also brings official support for the Law Breakers “Rise Up” open beta as well as Spider-Man: Homecoming VR experience. These and other features are retained in the 384.80 update so users do not need to worry about trading in a working feature for a fix.
As with most HotFix drivers, users just need to install it the same way they would the 384.76 WHQL version. It is a self-contained package that is complete so version 384.76 is not a requirement priort to installing the 384.80 HotFix.
While this update fixes the Watch Dogs 2 issue, some users on the GeForce forums are pointing out some issues that persist on their system. The stuttering on VR problem for example is now gone from the release notes. This is most likely since further testing reveals that the issue remains present.
User St4rcry also points out that he may have discovered a bug with the drivers ever since 382.53. He posted a video showing a possible CPU frequency bug that affects drivers post 382.33.
