HP is announcing the new Z VR backpack which packs quite a remarkable set of hardware underneath. The bad news for gamers however, is that it is not for gaming purposes. HP claims that it is the most powerful wearable VR and it is for work environments. In fact, the company is claiming that they are first to offer a professional wearable VR PC.

Pricing and Availability

Something that packs that caliber of hardware does not come cheap, especially since it is targeting corporate clients rather than end-users who have deep pockets. With that said, the retail price set at $3,300 USD is not too bad all things considered.

The base level set of the HP Z VR backpack workstation includes the following accessories:

  • Backpack Dock
  • 330W Smart AC Adapter
  • Backpack Harness
  • 2x Backpack External Battery
  • Backpack External Battery Charger
  • HP 180W Smart AC Adapter
  • HTC Vive Combo Cable

The price also includes a 1-year limited warranty coverage on parts and labor. VIVE headsets are not part of the bundle. Orders will be available soon directly from HP and is launching on September.
