There have been a lot of rumors lately about HTC’s upcoming flashgrip, the M8. As per previous insights, the M8 is a codenamed attributed to the handset, having the HTC One codenamed the M7. The M8 is rumored to be coming out in March 2014 and could be the One’s successor, having improved specs. Thanks to Antutu via Unwired View, we now can have a view at the M8’s specs.
The HTC M8 has a 5-inch 1080p Full HD touchscreen, a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB processor (a little over 100 MHz compared to the HTC One CPU), a 4-MP UltraPixel rear camera, a 2.1 MP front camera, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and it will run Android 4.4 KitKat from day one.
Taking all of the above into account, the HTC M8 is not much of an improvement from its little brother, the HTC One, the only difference being the screen and and CPU speed. Even so, the handset will launch just a bit sooner than the Qualcomm 805 CPU, rendering the 800 outdated in terms of newest tech and especially performance. There are some rumors that the M8 will include a fingerprint scanner on the back as the HTC One Max.
Whatever HTC’s plans are, we are more likely to have an official statement about the HTC M8 next year at the Mobile World Congress in February.
