HTC One X+ is here, features 1.7GHz Tegra 3 SoC, 64GB storage, Jelly Bean

If we’re not hearing about Apple’s iPhone 5, we’re hearing about Samsung’s range of Galaxy smartphones. This doesn’t leave much else to talk about, as they seem to be the two biggest boys in the playground right now. Well, not anymore. HTC have just unveiled their HTC One X+ and what a beast it is.

One X+ sports NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 SoC clocked at 1.7GHz with four cores, a 2,100mAh battery, 64GB of on-board storage, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sense 4+ for software. The screen is the same as its predecessors (HTC One X) at 4.7 inches, but the One X+ has a new tap to pair ability, or “Tap and Go” as HTC call it.

On the rear, the One X+ sports an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 lens and ImageChip-assist, but the software side of things with the camera have been changed offering two new modes. Firstly we have Self Portrait for the retouching of your self-taken shots, and secondly, Sightseeing, which allows for quick launching of the camera app.

HTC are also debuting some software to launch with the One X+ called HTC Get Started. This is a web-based service that gives users the chance to manage their initial setup from the desktop, allowing a one-click installation on the One X+. We should expect to see the One X+ later this year, where it’ll drop in Europe and North Asia this month.
